Introduction to Ill Bethisad.
Unlike most uchronies, Ill Bethisad doesn't have a single
discernable Point of Departure. Rather, events go down the path less
traveled only to then cut through the forest back to the main road,
walk down it a bit and branch off once more in a completely different
direction.
Among its many quirks, Ill bethisad is home to more living
languages then our timeline. Not only some have avoided the extinction
faced by their counterpart *here* or went through a different evolution
but other have no counterpart whatsoever outside of that uchrony.
Ill Bethisad's technology is lagging a bit behind in term of
computers which is why information are still a bit sketchy. However,
other transdimensional hackers have managed to make some break through
on their own and have set up a "Society" dedicated to studying it. The
society's ring can be found at the bottom of the page.
Sections:
- A webpage from an embassy of "New Francy"
- Based on some video feeds, I've been trying to compile a Dictionary of laurentian (Apparently the majority language in New Francy).
- The webpage of the "Parliement of Australasia"
- The site of a vexillological institute shows many of that timeline's flags
- The royal museum of New South Cambria (Australasia)
apparently put up an exibition on propaganda sometime ago. I assume
thats what it was anyway, the scanned brochure I found looks like it
was written by a welshman who tought he was french (weird). Anyway, the
following are some images taken from that brochure:
- Based on the map and name on this poster, I would guess that Castille is a country on this world that went through some period of dictatorship.
- Another castillan poster. I wonder what they resurected from. Maybe they went through a civil war ?
- Some sort of russian poster
(based on the clothes and letters) which I would assume is promoting a
political party. The cyrillic in the upper left spells in latin script
"SNOR". Maybe thats the party in power.
- A soldier holding what is proably a russian flag. The same symbol as the previous image appear, could that be "SNORist Russia" ?
- Some fascistic looking russians parading in moscow (the "white square" ?).
- There was an photography (too low-res to include) next to this image
that seem to show it being used as the logo of a newspaper. Based on
the clothes and background, I would guess somewhere in what is britain
in our timeline and the use of the red dragon would point to Wales. So
the welsh might be sovereign nation there I guess.
- A Database from an Inteligence agency. As yet, I've only been able to access the "Visual Identity" section.
- This site
is about a sort of international paramilitary organisation called the
"Pontifical Zouaves". *Here* they briefly exist during the 1860s but I
would assume that *there* they somehow manage to prevent the takeover
of the Papal States and so, maintain their existence.
